Last week (after careful study of the SD rules) we held a socially-distanced garden party to announce the winners of our Blackbird/Diane Chandler CWWL (Creative Writing Workshops London) summer creative writing competition.
Rain & thunderstorms were predicted but luck was on our side and it turned into the most beautiful, balmy summer's evening. Several writing students who'd taken one of our online courses met for the first time, others who had met at our CWWL kitchen workshops were reunited.
We were restricted by numbers at the socially distanced party, but hurrah for, and many thanks to, Chiswick Buzz TV, for filming the prize-giving and the winners reading extracts from their works. We look forward to sharing in due course.
Many Congratulations to the winners :
FIRST: Elle Spencer TANDA LULA
SECOND: Clemily Martin THE ROAD TO ITACUIAXA
THIRD: Alison Targett AUTOMATIC
FOURTH: Ricky Cibardo THE WAITING ROOM
...and to all who entered. The standard was incredibly high.
The entry fees were divided amongst the winners, £50.00 1st, £40.00 2nd, £30.00 3rd, £20.00 4th.
Special thanks to the InterSaga Chiswick literary agent Anna Klerfalk for being our guest judge, and to Maddie Chandler for administering the entries so that all were judged anonymously.
These workshops will continue online in September.
They are suitable for both beginners and more experienced writers who feel in need of a creative boost. They are interactive, so you get a chance to do writing exercises and read your work in the pacey 1-hour slots.
If you feel shy there is no pressure to speak or share.
Workshops are stand-alone, take one and see. If you enjoy it, sign up for more.
They cost just £15.00.
